Wardrobe Essential: LBD/LWD
I am so excited to share more of this series that began last week! When it comes to organizing and curating your wardrobe, there are a few essentials I think everyone needs. Last week, I talked about the striped tee, and today my second essential is the LBD/LWD. The reason I believe this is such an essential in any closet is because of the versatility. Regardless of your color preference, black or white, you should have a simple little dress that can be easily dressed up or down and worn throughout the year for any season. Remember this little white dress I designed/constructed last summer? It is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet! Personally, I gravitate towards white, and I feel like most people lean towards either black or white when it comes to clothes. Whichever color you prefer, I think this dress is a staple and one that can be thrown on for lunch, dinner, shopping, traveling, or whatever the day may bring!
Shopping Tip: Purchase a dress with a fabric that lends itself to both winter and summer, like cotton, jersey, or crepe de chine. Stay away from linen (very summer-y) and wool (very winter-y) when looking for a dress you can wear year round!
