"The Greenbrier is a place you can get dressed up everyday, any time of the day"
This quote is one of my favorite sayings ever overheard at The Greenbrier. I was shopping with my mom and sister at Ralph Lauren at The Greenbrier one day, and I overheard this conversation between the sales associate and another customer discussing what to wear. This statement is so true, because you can get away with wearing something fancy any hour of the day at the hotel. I think this is one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with The Greenbrier over a decade ago. All my life, I have loved getting dressed up and always take advantage of any opportunity to purchase a new dress! When I was little, I would always get to go shopping with my mom before our annual trip and pick out a new Lilly Pulitzer dress to wear to dinner at The Greenbrier. Although I no longer get dressed up in head to toe Lilly for dinner, I still love dressing up for dinner at The Greenbrier just as much!
On Sunday night, Katherine, Elisabeth, Anne Caroline, and I all got dressed up for dinner in the Main Dining Room and had the most delicious meal! The chocolate soufflé I had for dessert was to die for!
A little story about my outfit: I have been trying to track down this dress in my size for MONTHS. Seriously, MONTHS. I first saw it in a street style photo from New York Fashion Week in August, and I was smitten. The classic all white color, gorgeous lace detailing, high neck, and ruffle detailing combined make the most beautiful dress. Although I was ready to click "add to cart" and checkout within seconds, there was a big problem: It was SOLD OUT everywhere. I checked everywhere online, called every store that sells Self Portrait, and had absolutely no luck finding it. By late October, I had completely given up on finding this dress and figured it was a lost cause. Until..... A week before I left for The Greenbrier, I was browsing the new arrivals page on Shopbop and saw THE dress was back in stock. I hesitantly clicked on the product image, telling myself there was no chance it would be back in stock in my size. Well, thank you Shopbop for the biggest surprise, because there was ONE left in my size. I still truly didn't believe I would actually get this dress (I kept waiting to receive the "Order Cancelled due to low stock" email) until the package arrived at my door!
I can easily say it was definitely worth the wait for this dress! It lived up to all my expectations, and I can't wait to wear it a thousand more times! And lucky for some of you- IT IS BACK IN STOCK in several sizes here!
