Transitioning into fall fashion can be a tricky thing. Especially in the South when the temperatures stay pretty high until October, it can be hard to decide what to wear each morning. I can't believe I'm saying this (because I'm someone who would prefer summer year round), but I am kind of ready for fall and cooler temperatures- mostly because of all the pretty fashion that comes with it. Who doesn't love pretty booties and soft sweaters!? SO MANY new things are arriving in stores every day (or every hour, it seems!), and I am ready to start easing some transitional weather items into my wardrobe. I actually just made a page full of my fall wishlist items under the "Shop" tab above- see here!
My biggest tip for a smooth transition from summer into fall fashion is to focus on colors. No matter the weather or temperature outside, one easy way you can start shifting your fashion choices now is by wearing deeper, richer colors. The biggest colors for this upcoming season are blue, gray, crimson, taupe, copper, blush, violet, and hunter green. When shopping for fall, keep these colors in mind! This copper colored top from Rachel Pally is one that I be will getting a lot of wear out of during the transitional weather, because it is light weight and breezy enough to stay cool but the color is right on trend for fall. Rachel Pally's "New Arrivals" page is filled with lots more pretty fall things- take a look! Also, these jeans are one of my favorite pairs, because the light wash color makes them perfect for pairing with darker tops and sweaters!
I am working on creating a post highlighting all my favorite items in fall's biggest colors, so stay tuned for that :)
