The Draper James spring collection is HERE! Over the past year, Draper James has become one of my favorite stores for chic, feminine, detailed, and unique clothing. Sometimes I wish I lived in Nashville or Dallas, so I could visit their store and see all their pretty designs in person more often!
After sharing more about the Draper James fall collection here and their winter coats here, I am beyond excited that their spring collection is finally here and I get to share a couple of my favorite pieces from it with you today! The Draper James spring collection is full of florals, stripes, ruffles, and the most adorable patterns. I am in LOVE with so many of their new things- like this top, these shorts, and this floral raincoat! I'm pretty sure I need this top and this top in every single color.
For today's outfit, I decided to do a little pattern mixing, combining two of my favorite floral patterns from the Draper James spring collection. I paired this billowy lace top (in "Blue Hilltop Garden") with these scallop shorts (in "Greenhill Blossom"). At first, I wasn't completely sure these two items would look great together (I thought it might be a little much to wear so much pattern together), but I actually LOVE the two patterns together and how the colors really highlight one another. I think the key to pattern mixing is staying within the same color family. For example, the flower stems/accents in the top perfectly match the color of the shorts, which I think makes the colors in the top pop even more. These shorts have the cutest scallop hem, and I also really really love the billowy lace sleeves of this top. It is such a fun piece to wear for spring, and it would look so cute with white jeans too!
For the accessories, I wore my go-to white earrings *under $50*, these lace up espadrilles *under $100*, and this blush mini bag! I wanted the color and patterns of the shorts and top to be the main focus of the outfit, so I was sure to keep all my accessories pretty and neutral.
