Whenever someone asks me what inspires me most, my go-to answer is always travel! There is nothing like seeing a new place for the first time, exploring, and getting lost in the wonder of a new destination. During the summer months my favorite place to be is by the sea, and one coastal destination I am dying to travel to is Nantucket!
This past April when I visited Charleston, I got a glimpse of the classic Nantucket style while shopping at Skinny Dip Charleston and I completely fell in love. Skinny Dip is a "a collective concept store housing a well-curated mix of men’s, women’s and lifestyle brands, with a focus on introducing fresh and new designers from around the country" (read more on Skinny Dip's site here). Friends and creative entrepreneurs, Sara Rossi and Taylor Ivey co-founded Skinny Dip Nantucket last summer and just opened Skinny Dip Charleston this past April. I love that Sara and Taylor have made Skinny Dip more than just a store- it's a gathering spot and an inspiring place to learn about new designers and the story behind each brand. With trunk shows, pop up shops, jewelry classes, yoga classes, and a wine and coffee bar at their Charleston location, there is no reason not to stop by and linger awhile!
While in Charleston, one item I couldn't pass up purchasing at Skinny Dip was this adorable Nantucket sweater from co-founder Taylor Ivey's collection, Ellsworth and Ivey. The soft white sweater accented by the classic blue block lettering completely won me over. It's the perfect summer sweater for cool nights (especially for cold natured people like me!) and looks cute paired with everything from jeans, to shorts, to skirts, and even casually thrown over a dress. The cotton is so soft, and for under $100, the quality is amazing. While I have yet to visit Nantucket, this sweater has me dreaming of visiting soon!
In today's outfit, I paired the sweet sweater with these jean shorts, striped espadrilles, and my favorite round bag for a casual day time look. I also added these earrings for a pretty pop of white!
Now, take a second to dream of visiting Nantucket with me. The homes, the flowers, the architecture, the colors, and the ocean all have me seriously wanting to plan a trip here! How amazing does it look?! I'm thinking long bike rides, endless walks on the beach, and lots of ice cream! If you have been to Nantucket, I would love to know any tips on the best time to visit, best places to stay, and your favorite things to do! Feel free to email me here with any suggestions :)
