Happy Tuesday! I hope y'all's weeks are all off to a great start! I am back home from New York Fashion Week and am so excited to share more of my trip to NYC with y'all on the blog this week! I have decided to break the posts up by day and event, so to kick things off- I am going to share part of day one exploring SoHo and Tribeca.

My first day in the city was a little more low key than the second day (I'll be covering that in the coming days), so I was really happy to get to spend time exploring the SoHo and Tribeca neighborhoods. The one thing I wish we had more of in NYC was time. I could have spent hours wandering these neighborhoods, turning corners at cute shops, admiring the adorable cafes, and taking pictures of the pretty architecture!

A couple of the highlights of Tribeca and SoHo were getting to stop by the Neely and Chloe Studio on Franklin Street (Tribeca) and visiting Tibi on Wooster Street (SoHo). Y'all may remember when Neely and Chloe Burch came to Birmingham this winter for a trunk show (read more about that here). I am the biggest fan of their brand and pretty bags/accessories, so I was really happy to finally get to visit them in NYC and see their gorgeous showroom and workspace. If you haven't gotten your hands on a Neely and Chloe bag yet, head here and prepare yourself to fall in love (all bags are under $300)! This round bag is my new favorite for fall! Y'all know that Tibi is another one of my all time favorite brands, so I absolutely loved getting to visit their flagship store in SoHo and seeing all their gorgeous new pieces for fall. It may have been a good thing we were on such a tight schedule, because I could have easily spent all day there trying on and admiring all their chic designs. This dress, these pants, this top, and this skirt were a few of my favorite finds!

When it came time for packing for NYFW, I felt a little clueless about what to wear and bring with me. Would it be hot? Cold? Would I want to dress up? Dress down? Wear heels? Wear flats? Sneakers? Wear bright colors? Stick to neutrals? Because this was my first time at NYFW, packing was definitely a slightly overwhelming task, so I turned to my favorite online store for some inspiration. Within minutes I came across this ruffled gingham mini skirt, and I was sold on its pretty pattern and price under $50. From there, I knew I could mix and match it with different tops and would be able to wear it with heels or flats. For day one in NYC, I wore the gingham mini skirt with this ruffled one shoulder top (loved the ruffle on ruffle pairing), a leather jacket (similar under $100) to give the look a bit of an edge, and these black heels for a dressier day time look. While the gingham and ruffles are definitely true to my style, I love that the leather and black/white color combo gave this look a little city flair.

Stay tuned for more outfits and more NYC stories on the blog throughout the week!
