NYFW: TIBI SS18
On Saturday, September 9, one of my fashion dreams came true, and I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Tibi Spring 18 runway show at NYFW! Amy Smilovic and the Tibi brand have inspired me for years, and it was an incredible honor to attend the show of one of my very favorite brands. The biggest thank you to the Tibi team for including me! It was a total pinch-me moment being surrounded by so many talented and influential people and seeing the debut of Tibi's Spring 18 collection, which, I must say, is absolutely amazing (read more below)!
Side note about my love for Tibi: Amy Smilovic, the Founder and Creative Director of Tibi, is a southern lady herself and was the first fashion designer I ever met (at a Birmingham Fashion Week event in Spring 2013). She has inspired me in more ways than I can express over the past five years, and I felt so lucky to have the chance to meet such an amazing designer as a junior in high school (just a couple months after I first started my @LCBSTYLE insta account). I will forever admire her kindness and humility as well as her effortless, chic, and refined style/ design aesthetic!

COLLECTION REVIEW
Arriving to the venue, a clean and modern space flooded with natural light and gorgeous views, I knew this was a moment I would remember forever. I found my seat and was so happy to get to meet and chat with two other bloggers Kelli of The Kelli Chronicles and Monroe of Fashion Steele NYC before the show started. I had so much fun getting to know these two inspiring ladies and hearing more about each of their individual blogging journeys!
I knew Tibi's Spring 18 collection would be great, but it completely exceeded all my expectations! I was seriously blown away by each look that came down the runway (see a few clips in the video below). From the soft colors, to the gorgeous pleated dresses, to the sophisticated blazers and jumpsuits, there was not a single look from the collection that I did not love. A few of my favorite elements were the ruffled necklines, flowing hemlines, monochromatic looks, and transparent belts and corsets (so unique). Tibi's inspiration for this collection came from the street style of the '80s, and it was such a fun, upbeat showcase of spring designs! I will be replaying the final walk (to the happiest tune of Aretha Franklin's "I Say a Little Prayer"- see in the video below) in my head over and over until Spring 18 arrives and these pieces are in stores!
