Happy Monday! Today’s outfit is one I wore a couple weeks ago to lunch on my birthday (see birthday posts here and here) and is a combination of a few of my favorite fall items- both old and new!

Last week on my Insta story I brought up the topic of fast fashion vs. slow fashion, and I was so interested to hear all of your feedback/opinions on this topic. Overall most of you expressed that you were bigger fans of slow fashion but that you were also not opposed to purchasing several less expensive trendy/fast fashion items each season. I love that we were all basically on the same page about this!

When it comes to fashion and shopping, I have always believed in quality over quantity. I am a big fan of slow fashion (I think it’s the left over fashion design student in me) and believe in saving up and investing in timeless, well constructed pieces that will last for years to come. However, it is unrealistic for me to say that my entire wardrobe is made up entirely of “slow fashion” items, because it definitely is not. I do love trends and like picking up a few less expensive items from time to time. I think it is all about balance, which brings me back to what I wanted to talk about today: mixing old and new!

The dress I’m wearing is a few years old but always one I come back to this time of year. It’s light, silky, and flowy but the long sleeves make it perfect for transitional weather. I paired the old dress with a few of my new favorite fall accessories: these booties (under $100), this hat, and this necklace. These three accessories will be on heavy rotation this fall, so you can definitely expect to see them again! While I can't link this exact dress because it’s no longer in stores, I did find two similar dresses here (similar style) and here (same brand).

Below I have rounded up 10 more long sleeve dresses perfect for transitioning into fall. Take a look!
