LCB at Home: My First 5 Purchases

Last Wednesday, I shared the news of my move and how I am starting to decorate my new apartment! Follow along as I bring my new space to life!

When moving into a new apartment or house, the overwhelming task of decorating a new space can make the checklist of purchases seem never-ending. It is always important to prioritize and make smart purchases that you won't regret later. Today I'm sharing the first five purchases I made for my new apartment and the reasons why below!

1. Parsons Desk

My sister has had this sleek white desk for years, and I have always admired its modern and clean design. When I started laying out my new office space, this desk was the first thing I wanted to add to it! It's both functional and stylish, and it provides a pretty blank slate for lots of accessorizing.

2. Geometric Runner

My new apartment has a long hall that felt very dark and empty without anything on the walls or floors. I spotted this runner on sale during the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale and knew it was just thing thing that would brighten up the hall way and bring some life into my apartment. I love the geometric pattern and fresh blue-green color. It also comes in a few more colors here.

3. Standing Mirror

A floor length mirror is essential to getting dressed and planning outfits, so as a fashion blogger this purchases was definitely a necessary one! I love that this particular mirror is a very simple white design and does not take up too much space in my room.

4. Rattan Tray

Are any of you familiar with Opalhouse? I had not heard of their brand until discovering their collaboration with Target, and I quickly fell in love with so many of the designs from the collection. The Opalhouse x Target collection is filled with boho chic pieces that all have a sweet feminine touch. From lamps, to rugs, to bedding, to towels, they have designed just about everything to decorate your home on a budget. This tray was my favorite piece from the collection, and I featured it in my instagram here.

5. Jute Area Rug

Like I mentioned on my Insta story last night, I was originally considering purchasing a seagrass or sisal rug for my den. I have always loved the neutral element of these rugs and the look of layering a smaller rug on top for a pop of color, but I have not always loved the feel of them... they are a little bit rougher than I would like. When I came across this jute rug, I loved that it was in line with my goal of finding a neutral/natural rug but was a good bit softer than seagrass or sisal. I also really liked that the "Ivory" color is lighter and brighter and does not have as much brown/tan tones in it. Overall, I could not be happier with my purchase, and I absolutely love the soft yet bold texture this rug has added to my space!
