NYFW: Floral Dress

DRESS: HUNTER BELL (SIMILAR STYLE IN SAME PATTERN) | SHOES: TORY BURCH (IN BLACK HERE) | BAG: CHLOE | EARRINGS: VIVAN DREW (C/O) | WATCH: MICHELE (C/O)

A new day and a new dress! Yesterday I shared my first outfit post from NYFW, and today I am back to share another dress I wore in NYC last week!

Last year for fashion week I remember packing lots of separates- skirts, tops, and lots of layers. This year I packed almost all dresses, which made for lots of really easy, effortless day to night outfits. There is something so wonderful about getting dressed and not having to worry about mixing/matching pieces. Slipping on one pretty piece and being ready to walk out the door is just the best, especially when traveling and living out of a suitcase!

This dress is one I found at Willow Boutique in Rosemary Beach in early August, and I couldn't wait to pack it up and bring it with me to NYC. The fabric is so gorgeous in person- a heavy floral jacquard with metallic details that give the dress a little shimmer. I wore these pearl flower earrings from Vivian Drew to play off the floral pattern of the dress- I always love the look of a white earring to brighten up a darker outfit. Unfortunately, I cannot find this exact dress anywhere online, but there is a midi dress in the same fabric available here.

The designer of this dress, Hunter Bell, is actually a southern girl herself and graduated from the University of Alabama. I had the chance to meet her when she was hosting a trunk show in Birmingham when I was in high school, and she was just as kind as she is beautiful! She creates some really beautiful feminine and flirty designs season after season- shop them on Tuckernuck here!

The day I wore this dress was filled with a few meetings, a little shopping, a fun afternoon at Tartinery for happy hour (see photo below) with Allison, Bronwyn, and Shelby (my sweet friends I met at The Kentucky Castle), and a delicious dinner at Margaux.

Throughout my trip, I was reminded just how incredible it is to meet and spend time with bloggers and others in the industry in real life. In today’s world (and especially in the blogging industry), it can be so easy to rely on communication through technology, live behind screens, and rely too much on our inboxes. However, it is so important and so incredibly valuable (invaluable, really!) to get to be in the same place, spend actual time together over coffee, drinks, and meals, and really build relationships that go far beyond the limits of social media and the digital worlds we create. This day in particular was one of my very favorites getting to spend time with others that have inspired me, partnered with me, encouraged me, and dreamed with me. I am endlessly grateful.
