TSC Summit 2019 Recap: Day 2

Yesterday I shared a recap of day one of The Southern C Summit (read here) and today I’m continuing on with a full run down of day two of the conference!

DAY LOOK

DRESS: THEORY (LOOK FOR LESS) | SHOES: GOLDEN GOOSE (SIMILAR) | BAG: PAMELA MUNSON | EARRINGS: BIJOU | BRACELETS: ROXANNE ASSOULIN | WATCH: MICHELE (C/O)

NIGHT LOOK

DRESS: MISA (SIMILAR) | SHOES: SEE BY CHLOE (MORE COLORS HERE) | CLUTCH: ANN HOWELL BULLARD | EARRINGS: BIJOU | BRACELETS: ROXANNE ASSOULIN | WATCH: MICHELE (C/O)

The Outfits: I went blue for day two! For the day time speaker sessions, lunch, and beachside shopping, I wore a blue striped shirtdress with sneakers. I love the contrast of these two items- the very polished, tailored look of the shirtdress mixed with the relaxed, distressed sneakers creates a refined but relaxed look. I just found this exact dress on sale on Amazon here. It also comes in two more colors- take a look!

For dinner and the silent disco, I changed into a tiered ruffle midi dress and my most favorite neutral wedges. I have received quite a few questions about this dress, and unfortunately it is from last summer/ no longer available. I found a new similar style in the same color by the same brand here- I think it’s equally as cute and perfect for spring parties, summer weddings, etc!

Speakers: Day two was another packed day of speaker sessions and panels. The morning started off early with Stacy Smallwood of Hampden talking all about her journey in the world of fashion. She has three beautiful stores on King Street in Charleston filled with the most gorgeous fashion, shoes, and accessories from around the world. You can also shop all her pretty things online at HampdenClothing.com- be sure to take a look. Stacy’s experience in fashion and business (over 17 years!) is incredible, and it was so inspiring to hear more of her story and all that she does each day to motivate and encourage her team and those around her!

More inspiring people we got to hear from:

  • Natasha Murphy of Nicely Built

  • Libba Osborne of Leapfrog

  • Betsy Cribb of Southern Living

  • Brooke Bell of Hoffman Media

  • Ellen McGauley of Veranda

  • Mary Beth Greene of MB Greene Bags

  • Amy Mills of 17thStreet BBQ

  • Carrie Morey of Callie’s Charleston Biscuits

  • Melany Robinson of Polished Pig Media

  • Phyllis Hoffman DePiano + Brian Hart Hoffman of Hoffman Media

  • Molly Fienning of Babiators

  • Marysia Reeves of MARYSIA

  • Julia H. Engel + Thomas Berolzheimer of Gal Meets Glam

  • Darcy Miller of Darcy Miller Designs + Martha Stewart Weddings

Some sessions were more story telling and inspirational talks while others were packed with applicable, practical business tips and advice. I think overall TSC did an incredible job balancing the mix of speakers and content! I left feeling equally inspired and equipped, like someone just re-lit the fire inside of me to continue pursuing this blogging/fashion journey and also very ready to take action on the next steps in my business.

Lunch at Sea Island Beach Club: Between speaker sessions we walked over to the Sea Island Beach Club (which, if you haven’t visited, is absolutely gorgeous) for a beachside lunch with our mentor groups. I loved that TSC incorporated additional time with our mentor group into the schedule this year to continue the conversations from day one. I am so happy I got to spend more time with the inspiring ladies in my group and hear more about all of their businesses. It was so so incredible to hear about the different talents, gifts, and passions that each of these ladies have and how they have grown a business/ career out of them. It was also very encouraging to hear about the ups and downs of others’ creative journeys, knowing that we are all in this together and the adventure of entrepreneurship is never ending.

Beachside Sip & Shop: Once the speaker sessions ended, we headed back over to the Beach Club for drinks, more mingling, and lots of shopping. A number of boutiques set up shop by the ocean, and I loved browsing and discovering new brands, boutiques, and designs!

Dinner: For dinner, I headed over to Tramici with Shannon, Abby, Cat, and Julie. They were so sweet to include me, and I loved getting to chat with them about each of their career journeys and the paths that led them to where they are today. All four of them currently live in Charleston, and I am dying to visit and have a little reunion soon!

Silent Disco: The conference would not have been complete without silent disco at The Cloister. I cannot tell you how much fun we had dancing the night away. Our group of Alabama ladies was the first to arrive and the very last to leave. We even somehow convinced the DJ’s to extend the disco by another half hour after it was supposed to end. If you ever get a chance to attend a silent disco, do not turn down the invitation! It is too much fun.
