For those that may have missed the life update- I am currently living in Palm Beach, Florida!
Although I moved out of this apartment in May 2019 prior to my move to Palm Beach, this space will always hold a very special place in my heart. Let’s rewind for a second, so I can tell you a bit more about why this place meant so much to me…
In May 2018, I really was not sure about my plans for staying in my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama or moving to a new city post graduation in December 2017. I was seriously considering making a move to Nashville, Tennessee and thought that would be my next step for both life and my career. However when I stumbled upon this adorable 2 bedroom/ 1 bath apartment filled with so much natural light and lots of character (read more here) on my way home from a spontaneous trip to our local art store, I knew this was the place I wanted to be for my first year post grad pursuing blogging as a full time career. I always sort of joke and say I wasn’t really looking for this apartment, but it found me! I love the way the Lord allows things like this to fall into place so surprisingly yet seamlessly.
The charming 1920s apartment in Birmingham, Alabama was my first “grown up” space that I had complete freedom to decorate and design, which I knew was a big luxury. I knew I wouldn’t always have so much freedom with designing a space, so naturally I turned one of the two bedrooms into a dressing room and walk in closet. Because #priorities. Just kidding… but when else would I have a chance to do this?! As a visual person, it was such a luxury to be able to see all my things in one place to style outfits and create content. My goal for designing this space was to make it a place that I would enjoy living and working as it functioned as both my home and office. I wanted it to be an inspiring place that fueled my creativity and always felt bright!
This apartment was a space I called home during a year of more challenges than I can count that ultimately led to more growth than I can even put into words. I learned a lot here- a lot about life, a lot about work, a lot about people, a lot about faith, and a lot about myself… which ultimately led me to my next home here in Palm Beach.
