30 Artists to Know and Follow
Over the past few weeks of being at home, I have been missing the people and places that inspire me each day around Palm Beach. Instead I have been turning to Instagram, blogs, coffee table books… and especially art for that same inspiration and creative rush.
My parents taught me the value and appreciation of art at a young age- my dad was constantly putting a paintbrush and canvas in our hands, and my mom always brought my four siblings and me along with her to every art gallery she visited while looking for art for our home. My dad used a good bit of his time after work to paint horses, polo scenes, landscapes, houses, etc. and his oil and acrylic paintings are hung all around our home. Some of my favorite memories are being at the beach house with my family spending Saturday mornings listening to Kenny Chesney with all the doors open and all five of us running back and forth from the beach to our miniature easels painting and covering ourselves in paint and color.
For a little while, I thought I might venture down the road of art- focusing on fashion illustration or watercolor work (see here). However blogging and photography have really taken the lead for now, and I have yet to get back to working on any art in the past few years. I always have a sketchbook with me though and am constantly drawing outfits/ fashion looks and doodling the things that inspire me. I think art, in all its forms, is so powerful and transformative.
Today I am excited to share 30 artists I love and who are always inspiring me! These are 30 ladies you should absolutely know and follow over on Instagram! Through blogging, I feel really lucky to have gotten to know some of these really, really incredible artists from the South and all over the country. I love the color, creativity, and beauty each of these ladies shares with the world through their individual work.
I hope that all of these beautiful paintings and works of art brighten your day and remind you of the beauty in creativity all around us!
When it comes to looking for art online, a few of my favorite go-to stores/ collectives/ online galleries are Well and Wonder, Serena and Lily, One Kings Lane, and Little Art Marts (recently launched by my friends in Fairhope, Alabama)!
