Hotel Review: The Colony Hotel Palm Beach

OVERVIEW

Happy Wednesday, friends! I am so excited to share one last post from my recent Palm Beach trip- a full review of The Colony Hotel

The Colony Hotel, a pretty pink landmark in the heart of Palm Beach, is a hotel where old world charm meets modern elegance. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to partner with The Colony and call this slice of heaven home for a few days- and to share more of my trip with y'all! To me, looking back on this trip, it all feels like a dream. Was this even real?! A pink hotel in one of the most beautiful destinations with stripes, flowers, and gorgeous views around every corner. Yep, I’m pretty sure I dreamed it all up.

After returning from my trip and receiving the “How was Palm Beach?” question from family and friends, I have caught myself explaining multiple times that… If I could dream up my ideal destination, this would absolutely be it. It is pure heaven to me. Being someone who loves color and flowers and sunshine and the ocean as much as just about anything else in the world, it is an oasis! Palm Beach is filled with all of the brightest and happiest things, always exciting and inspiring me. Palm Beach has the beauty of visiting the Caribbean while still only being a short flight away and within the US borders, which makes it much easier (and a little more affordable) to visit.

For those of you that are familiar with Palm Beach, you know how charming this little spot in South Florida is, and for those of you who have yet to visit, I hope this post gives you a little insight into this precious place... and convinces you to add it to your travel wishlist!

ACCOMMODATIONS

I stayed in a Superior Suite at The Colony, and it was such a spacious and adorable room. With an entry hall, two full bathrooms, a bedroom, and a separate living space, it was definitely a luxury to be able to spread out and have extra space. The Superior Suite is perfect for families or those that prefer a little more space than a standard guest room. A few of my favorite things about our suite: the ample closet space (with the cutest yellow and white stripes), the beautiful (and updated!) bathrooms, and the gorgeous views right outside our window!

DINING

The Colony has several dining venues: Polo (main restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner), Cafe 155 (a grab and go spot for breakfast and lunch), Bimini Bar (poolside bar), and room service. While we were really sad to never make it to Polo, I can happily attest that Cafe 155, Bimini Bar, and The Colony's room service are all very delicious and all have incredibly kind and prompt service. On our first day, I ordered room service for lunch after a long morning of flying, and my meal was delivered to my room within 10 minutes of ordering- I don't think it gets any better than that! Each of our days in Palm Beach was pretty full with activities and different events, so having the convenience of Cafe 155 at the hotel and being able to order meals to-go was such a luxury! Their chicken salad sandwiches were the best I've ever had!

ACTIVITIES

Pool

The Colony has one of the most photogenic poolside settings I have ever seen. On Friday, we spent nearly the entire day here unwinding and soaking up all the sunshine! It is such a bright and peaceful spot.

Biking

One of the best ways to explore Palm Beach is by bike! I could cruise up and down the streets admiring all the pretty homes and gorgeous flowers for hours. The Colony has these adorable beach cruisers available for guests right by the front door of the hotel.

Beach

A major perk of staying at the Colony is its close proximity to the beach! It's about a block away from the ocean and while we didn't get to spend too much time on the beach, we really loved being close enough to stroll down the boardwalk at sunset!

Shopping

There is certainly no shortage of great shopping in Palm Beach. A few of my favorite stores to visit are Ralph Lauren (you have to see this store in person- I could move right into it!), Stubbs and Wootton, Aerin, and Chanel (for dreaming!).

Polo

One of the big highlights of our trip was attending the U.S. Open Polo Championship at International Polo Club Palm Beach. Read more about it here!

DECOR

Upon entering The Colony, one of the first things you will notice is its bright, colorful, and whimsical decor. The hotel was decorated by Carleton Varney (who also decorated The Greenbrier!), and it is just as bright and happy on the inside as it is on the outside. :) With the abundance of prints and patterns throughout the hotel, no two guest rooms are exactly the same!

LOCATION & SERVICE

Nothing beats the location of The Colony Hotel. It is ideally situated next to Worth Avenue and just a block away from the beach. I have stayed at a couple other hotels in Palm Beach, and the Colony has the best location of all. I love that you get the city feel (right next to Worth Avenue with endless shopping/dining options) and beach feel all in one prime spot. It's the best of both worlds for sure!

Lastly, I cannot write this post without mentioning the incredible service of the Colony Hotel. I am so appreciative of all the kind people that made my stay so wonderful! From the bellmen, to the concierge, to the kind ladies at Cafe 155, everyone at The Colony quickly became like family, and I cannot wait to visit this precious place again! If you are planning a trip or thinking about visiting Palm Beach, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! There isn't a single thing I would change about our stay. If you have any other questions about the hotel or my stay, feel free to leave a comment below or shoot me an email!
