LCB Collection Look Two

Happy Tuesday! First, I have to say WOW. I am so humbled and in complete awe of the kindness, support, sweet messages, and incredible feedback I received from you yesterday. It truly means the world to me, and it totally blew me away. Sending a hug and a big THANK YOU to all of you!

top, shorts, earrings, and bracelets: by yours truly!

Today I am so excited to introduce to y'all and talk about Look Two! This look is definitely the most unconventional design of the collection, and I was a little nervous about how it would come together. Like I learned with Look 1, not every design turns out exactly like I picture it in my head. Since this look is already a little different, I prepared myself for the worst when I began constructing it.

I began with the shorts, and I was so happy with how they turned out, because I LOVE the fabric. [side note: I had a pretty challenging time trying to decide which prints to include in this collection, but once I made these shorts, I knew I was totally sold on using this gray and white woven fabric (you will also see it used for the top in Look 8).] Next, I started the tunic, and I knew I wanted to make it out of silk crepe, but I really was not sure what fabric I was going to use for the sides to connect the front bodice to the back. I tried several options before settling on the white textured cotton. It was a bit tricky making sure the side panels were evenly and proportionally spaced, so it took some time to make it perfect! I love that this look is one that you truly have to see from all sides, because each is different!

I love the end result, and this look proved to me that sometimes the biggest risks yield the greatest rewards. I wish I could put into words how rewarding it is to watch a design that begins as an idea in your head turn into something tangible and wearable. It is so incredible to watch garments transform from a roll of fabric into clothing!
