15 Bible Verses for Spring 2020
Throughout the past few years of blogging, one of my very favorite things has been connecting and chatting with so many of you on Instagram, through email, and (best of all) in real life. Sometimes blogging can feel very one sided (thankful my sweet pup Lucy is here with me while writing this post :), so getting to hear from you is always a highlight of my day!
A few days ago, I posted a question on my IG story about what you would like to see more/ less of over the coming weeks and months, and so many of the responses I received mentioned sharing more scripture and devotionals. The words of the Lord written in the Bible are so powerful, so I am so happy to share some of my favorite verses with you!
Because there are no words truer or greater- “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword.” [Hebrews 4:12], I wanted to share 15 of the Bible verses I hope to center my heart and mind on this spring.
I look to God’s word for peace, comfort, joy, and hope each day, and I hope these verses can be a light in your days.
p.s. If you are looking for a great way to memorize scripture, I have always found writing out these verses to be very helpful!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
-Romans 8:28
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
-2 Corinthians 12:9
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”
-Romans 5:6-10
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.”
-Psalm 16:11
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
-2 Corinthians 4:18
“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the spirit of glory and of God rests on you… If you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name… So, then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful creator and continue to do good.”
-1 Peter 4:12-14,16,19
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
-Romans 8:1-2
“Let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread you protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.”
-Psalm 5:11
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
-Romans 8:37-39
“Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.”
-Isaiah 26:4
“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
-2 Corinthians 4:17-18
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
-Hebrews 12:2
“Delight yourself in the Lord.”
-Psalm 37:4
“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine.”
-Isaiah 9:2
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
-Romans 15:13
Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful week ahead. In the midst of this season, I pray we will all see the light and blessings (big and small) in each day!
