If you have been following along on Instagram this past week, you have probably picked up on the fact that this year's Southern C Summit at Sea Island was nothing short of AMAZING. Being surrounded by so many talented, creative, passionate, driven, and successful women for three days was so inspiring and encouraging! It was really special getting to connect with women in similar creative careers all across the country and having the opportunity to learn from some incredibly successful industry leaders. The speakers, the mentors, and each of the attendees all made the conference so wonderful. What I love most about TSC is its collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Everyone is so kind, friendly, and excited to support each other and their businesses. It is very much a community of celebration and not one of competition, which I absolutely love. I left TSC Summit feeling very empowered and excited for all that is to come!

Today I'm excited to recap day one of TSC Summit and share a few more highlights from Sea Island with you! Day two will be coming tomorrow!

The Outfit: Nothing gets me more excited for spring time and all the colorful fashion to come than a pair of bright pink pants! I first spotted these pretty pink pants in stores at the end of December and immediately added them to my "wishlist." I didn't have a specific place to wear them when I first found them, so they sat "in my cart" for a little over a month. They were one of those items that I would "check on" regularly to make sure they were still available in my size ;), but I could never quite convince myself to make the purchase until I had somewhere to wear them! As soon as February came around and TSC Summit got closer and closer, I decided they would be the perfect thing to wear to the conference and finally made the purchase (and I'm so happy I did!). I paired the bright pink pants with a white ruffle top, these platform espadrilles, a straw tote, and these gold earrings. To add a little pattern and another pop of color to the outfit, I wore an Hermes scarf as a belt (loved the extra detail it added to the look).

Registration & Swag Market: The first thing on the agenda for day one of TSC Summit was registration and the swag market. All attendees of the conference made their way to the foyer of The Cloister Hotel to pick up their swag bags and do a little shopping trick-or-treat style! A number of the sponsors/attendees of TSC Summit set up booths displaying their products and offering samples of products for all of the attendees. It was so much fun getting to walk around, meet the creators and founders of many different brands, and learn more about their different products!

The Speakers: After the swag market, we headed over to Sea Island Beach Club for a quick and yummy lunch at Southern Tide before making our way back to The Cloister Ballroom for day one's speaker sessions. Up first was Rose-Marie Swift and Elaine Sack of RMS Beauty, which was one of the sessions I was most looking forward to leading up to the conference! If you are not familiar with RMS Beauty, you should be! Rose-Marie Swift is redefining the meaning of clean beauty and offering an entire line of natural beauty products made with organic ingredients. During her session, Rose-Marie shared her journey as a makeup artist and how it led her to where she is today. My favorite takeaway from Rose-Marie and Elaine was to be creative and think outside the box when it comes to marketing and growing your business. Rose-Marie encouraged everyone to "Put the best you can in everything you do!"

Next up for the second session of day one was Kim Alexander of Garden & Gun, Jennifer Condon of Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and Veranda, moderated by Jessica Mischner. Their panel was titled "Securing Press In Today's Media Landscape." I learned so much during their session about how the world of press and media works, especially in regards to print publications. The biggest takeaway for me from their discussion was the importance of timing! Timing is everything!

Shopping at the Tibi Outlet: After day one's sessions ended, we quickly made our way over to the Tibi Outlet (I have shared more about the Tibi Outlet in the past here) in St. Simons to do a little shopping before dinner! The Founder and Creative Director of Tibi, Amy Smilovic, grew up on St. Simons Island, and St. Simons is still home to one of only two Tibi boutiques in the world! The opportunity to shop Tibi’s newest arrivals, past seasons’ discounted designs, and one of a kind runway samples all in one store is unmatched. The Tibi Outlet itself is truly worth the trip to Sea Island. Needless to say, we found a few too many things to bring home with us, and I'm excited to share a few of my favorite finds on the blog soon... stay tuned!

The Summit Soiree: Day one wrapped up with cocktails, food, music, and conversation at The Vine's Greenhouse. The Greenhouse is a gorgeous new event space in St. Simons and was the perfect spot to end the day connecting with other conference attendees! TSC went ALL out with the food and decor for this event. My jaw dropped when I saw all the fun balloon displays, bright lights, pretty floral arrangements, and cute wall projection! From ice cream to cocktails, to macarons, and more, the Summit Soiree was too much fun!
