Behind the Scenes Draper James Spring 2020 Photoshoot
Today is the day! The Draper James Spring 2020 Collection is here and the first delivery of items (more coming throughout the next couple months) is available to shop TODAY! I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of the photoshoot for the Spring 2020 collection a little over a month ago, and today I’m excited to share all the behind the scenes from the shoot!
When I read the subject line “Draper James Spring 2020 Photoshoot” in my inbox, I nearly jumped out of my chair! It was late fall, and I was getting used to the rhythm of my new chapter of life in Palm Beach, Florida. I had just fixed dinner in my apartment and sat down to eat when I picked up my phone and saw this exciting email light up my phone. I barely made it through the email before calling my mom and sister to say “Guess what!!” Being big fans of the Draper James brand and Reese Witherspoon, they were both just as excited as I was.
I don’t think a day went by between receiving this email invitation and leaving for the shoot that I didn’t express just how excited I was about this opportunity! I was extra excited to find out that the Spring 2020 Draper James shoot would be taking place at The Park, a new adorable and instagrammable micro-resort in St. Simons Island, Georgia- read more about it here!
As the trip inched closer and closer, I could hardly wait to join the Draper James team and be a part of this exciting shoot. I have felt really lucky to work with their wonderful team on many different blog/ social projects (see here, here, and here) over the past few years, so to get to work with their brand in a bigger way through this shoot felt extra meaningful!
Today’s post is broken down into two parts: our trip itinerary and my photoshoot looks (four featured today and more to come later this spring). Scroll to the second part of this post to see and shop all my outfits!
OUR ITINERARY
The Draper James Spring 2020 Photoshoot took place December 9-12, 2019 at The Park SSI
Monday, December 9
- Flew from PBI to SAV
-Met Taryn (a new blogger friend also joining Draper James for the shoot!) and the driver Draper James had arranged for us at the airport
-Drove from SAV to The Park SSI
-Checked into The Park SSI
-Met Maryam (my sweet roomie for the week!) and got settled into our home away from home
-Had fittings for all our looks for the shoot- tried on each piece Draper James had selected for us and styled each look with shoes and accessories. So fun to get a sneak peek at all the new spring designs!
-Dinner at Tramici Restaurant in SSI (a very yummy Italian spot!)
-Back to The Park SSI to catch up on computer work and get a good night’s rest before the first day of shooting!
Tuesday, December 10
-Woke up at 7am, ate breakfast, and headed over to the hair and makeup cottage to kick off the day
-Got our makeup done and hair blown out/ styled
-Changed into my first look of the day and started shooting around 10am
-Shot several looks around the Park SSI… one of which required me to take a dip into the pool… stay tuned for that 😜
-Changed back into comfy clothes and headed over to The Vine (the work and event space of the same ladies who started The Park SSI)
-Ate lunch, a big thanks to the Draper James team for bringing us burgers! and fries!! and all the yummy things!
-Started shooting our second round of looks for the day at The Vine
-Then headed back to The Park SSI to shoot one more look before some free time before dinner
-Dinner at Nancy with the whole team
Wednesday, December 11
-Woke up around 7am again and ate a quick breakfast before heading back to the hair and makeup cottage to get prepped and ready for day two of shooting!
-Shot one big group photo followed by individuals at The Park SSI
-Went to The Porch for the yummiest southern fried lunch
-Headed back to The Vine for the afternoon to shoot the rest of our looks
-Bryce Brock and Kelly Revels, the Founders of both The Vine and The Park SSI and two of the wonderful ladies who joined us for the Draper James shoot, led us in the *most fun* floral arranging workshop- definitely a highlight of our trip!
-Back to The Park SSI to change for dinner
-Dinner with the Draper James team at Georgia Sea Grill- the best end to such an awesome shoot with an even more amazing team!
