Picking up where I last left off with recapping our girls trip to California in early May. Read all about days one and two in my previous posts here and here. It is so hard to say which day of our trip was my very favorite because all our days were so, so full and filled with so many delicious meals and fun times exploring LA and Santa Barbara. However if I could relive one day of our trip, I would absolutely want to relive day three!

We woke up in LA and went to brunch at Gjelina (on Abbot Kinney and such a cool atmosphere) before heading to the Santa Monica Pier. The pier was much more of a tourist trap than I expected but still so colorful and fun to see. We then headed back to our hotel to grab our bags and drive up the coast a bit to Santa Barbara.

Our first stop in Santa Barbara was Bella Vista at Four Seasons Santa Barbara for lunch. The hamburgers were deeeelish and the view was even better. We sat on the patio overlooking the ocean and the weather could not have been more perfect. The entire Four Seasons Santa Barbara property is an oasis- so many lush gardens and palm trees around every corner. The architecture is stunning too, and the whole property feels like one big gorgeous, peaceful spa.

After our late lunch, we changed and headed to Carpinteria to do something I’ve always, always dreamed of doing- riding horses on the beach! I rode the sweetest little pony “Sprinkles” (his show name is “Sprinkles on Top” because of his unique coloring and suppooooosedly has been featured in a few GoPro commercials). We rode a little ways through a trail in the mountains before crossing the highway and making our way down to the beach. Riding on the beach was such a dream. With the ocean waves crashing in the background and the view of the mountains ahead of us, it felt like one big hug from God. His creation is so so so unbelievably beautiful. It was definitely an experience I will never ever forget and hope we get to do it again soon!
