HOTEL REVIEW: THE GREENBRIER

The Greenbrier just feels like home to me. If I'm not at The Greenbrier, I'm either dreaming of The Greenbrier or planning my next getaway to The Greenbrier. This resort has been my family's annual vacation destination for over 13 years, and I'm not sure there is any place in the whole wide world that is as special to me as The Greenbrier. This place holds so many of my favorite family memories, and I could probably write a whole book (if not several!) on how much I love The Greenbrier! Anyone who knows me knows how obsessed I am with this resort, which is why I'm so unbelievably grateful to be a Brand Ambassador for The Greenbrier and share more of my love for this beautiful resort with all of you!

Side note about The Greenbrier + Fashion: Fashion and The Greenbrier are two things that I have loved for as long as I can remember, and I think the two really go hand in hand more than I realize. Growing up, I think my love for the Greenbrier started with my fashion connection to the resort. When I was little, going to the Greenbrier each summer meant going shopping for my "Greenbrier" outfits. Because the dress code at the resort is a little more on the formal side, each year I would outgrow my little girl dresses and have to go shopping for new ones with my mom before we left for our trip. Until I was about 12, these outfits consisted of the most preppy Lilly and Ralph Lauren dresses and matching sets you could find. To this day, I still think this is where the preppier side of my style comes from!

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Greenbrier Resort has a wide range of accommodation options: from rooms to suites to cottages to sporting club homes. Whether you are traveling alone, as a couple, or with a bigger group, there is definitely a place for you to rest your head at The Greenbrier. I have stayed in both the cottages as well as in the hotel and both were wonderful experiences. I would recommend staying in a cottage if you want more room space and time outside (mornings/evenings on the porch, a little bit closer to the outdoor pool, tennis courts, golf, etc.). However, if you are looking for the most convenient accommodation option, I would probably recommend staying in the hotel. You are just steps away from some of the best dining and shopping on the property, as well as the spa and indoor pool. The historic Greenbrier Hotel takes you back in time with the most elegant and inspiring decor that makes you feel right at home, and there is something about staying in the hotel that makes you feel a little bit like Eloise at the Plaza.

DINING

There are endless dining options at The Greenbrier for every meal of the day, but if there is absolutely one meal of the day you CANNOT miss, it is breakfast in the Main Dining Room. There are no words to describe all of the deliciousness in this one meal (see photo below)!

-Prime 44 (my favorite!)

-Sam Snead's

-Draper's

-The Main Dining Room

-The Forum

-Slammin' Sammy's

-Room Service (The Greenbrier's room service is the best; they will come to your room/cottage and transform your dining experience with table cloths, fresh flowers, and completely take care of all your needs.)

ACTIVITIES

Whenever I tell friends I am visiting The Greenbrier, one question they always ask is "what do you do there?" and I usually don't even know where to begin because there are SO many things to do! A few of my favorite things to do are... swim, spa, tennis, family golf, and tea time!

SERVICE

One of the most unique aspects of The Greenbrier is the service and tradition of the resort. From the moment you enter the gates of the property to the second you leave, The Greenbrier staff will do everything they can to make you feel completely taken care of. If there is something you need,  the staff at The Greenbrier will do everything they can to happily get it for you/make it happen. From the time Mr. Mosley ("The Greenbrier Ambassador" who has been serving and welcoming guests to The Greenbrier for over 55 years) greets you at the front door until the moment you depart, I promise everyone at The Greenbrier will do their very best to take care of your every need!

WHEN TO GO

Any day of the year! Truly, there is not a "bad" time to go to The Greenbrier... it is always a good time to go to The Greenbrier! There are endless events and activities going on at The Greenbrier year round, and holidays at The Greenbrier are especially fun and exciting! A few highlights are Christmastime, The Greenbrier Classic (PGA Tour Event), and the Fourth of July!
