Travel Guide: St. John USVI
St. John is one of my very favorite island destinations, and I'm so excited to share some of my island recommendations with you over the coming months! What I love most about St. John is the gorgeous terrain, lush colorful landscape, and somewhat remote feeling of the island. The terrain of the island is a bit mountainous and hilly, which provides for the most amazing views from nearly every spot on the island. The views are truly breathtaking! Since a large majority of the island is a national park, the island feels very secluded and private in many areas. If you are looking to visit a gorgeous island with endless activities, friendly people, and crystal clear waters, but you are not a big fan of crowds and touristy-type spots, St. John is absolutely the place for you!
WHERE TO STAY in St. John, USVI
If you were to ask me, "Where should I stay in St. John?" my answer would depend on the type of vacation you are looking for. If you are traveling as a couple or with a smaller group and want a more resort-style experience, I would absolutely recommend Caneel Bay, but if you have a bigger family (like mine) and want a more DIY type of vacation, I definitely recommend renting a private house. It is super easy to find a vacation home to rent, and there are plenty available through VRBO and Suite St. John (highly recommend!). There are definitely perks to both, so it really depends on what you are specifically looking for... both are great options!
