Hotel Review: Ritz-Carlton Boston Common

A couple weeks ago I had the joy of visiting Boston, and I felt very lucky to call the Ritz-Carlton Boston home for the few days I was there!

When visiting a new city, one of the most difficult decisions can be choosing where to stay. With so many hotel options in a bigger city like Boston, I had no clue where to start narrowing down the tons and tons of hotel choices. Once I started studying the map of Boston and figuring out the places we wanted to visit while in town, I realized that it would probably be best to stay near Boston Common, a beautiful park in the center of Boston. This would offer us the convenience of being within walking distance or short drive to many of the things we wanted to do.

The Ritz-Carlton Boston Common won me over with its perfect location right on the southern edge of the park with amazing views. After staying here, I can confidently say this hotel not only had an amazing location, but the accommodations, amenities, food, and service were all incredible as well. I have nothing but great things to say about the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common, and I only wish we had had more time to spend here! If you are traveling to Boston, I would highly recommend staying here!

Side note: one big perk of staying at a Ritz Carlton (or any Marriott managed property) is the chance to earn rewards points that add up to free stays and other awesome benefits/freebies. I love booking through the Marriott app on my phone, which makes check-in/check-out super easy. You can even request special amenities like extra towels/pillows right through the app. It’s pretty great- I'm a big fan!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Our flight into Boston was a very late one, and we didn’t arrive at the hotel until past midnight. Our room at the RC Boston Common could not have been a more perfect place to lay our heads after a long afternoon of flying, and it very quickly began to feel like home!

TheRC Boston Common recently underwent a $13 million renovation and redesign (read more here), so all the guest rooms feel brand new. We stayed in a Deluxe City View Guest Room, and it was one of the most spacious hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. I loved the added modern features like Smart TVs (complete with netflix), numerous plugs/charging stations, and sleek furniture. Another feature of our room I loved were the high ceilings that helped make the room feel even larger than it already was, and the expansive windows looking out at the city were amazing. It was so awesome to wake up to the city and park view each morning. Oh, and the bathroom was gorgeous too! The marble counters, floors, tub, and shower made for a pretty luxurious space, and all the Asprey bath amenities smelled heavenly!

DINING

While at the RC Boston Common, we took full advantage of the amazing food at the hotel. The night we arrived late into the hotel, we ordered room service, and I think it was one of the best late night meals I have ever had. I don’t always expect the finest food at 1am, but our room service meal was truly SO delicious. We had a couple more yummy room service meals throughout our stay and all were equally as great.

One of the best things about the RC Boston Common is its in house restaurant, Artisan Bistro. It is a modern take on a classic bistro with a warm, friendly, and fresh environment. We enjoyed breakfast here two mornings, and both meals were wonderful. Not only was the food here really delicious, but the design and atmosphere of the restaurant were so beautiful as well. I could have spent hours staring at all the striking light fixtures and bold mix of wood and metal elements throughout the restaurant. It is a really gorgeous space!

SERVICE

Ritz-Carlton hotels are known for their service and attentiveness to hotel guests, and the RC Boston Common definitely measured up to that reputation. Each staff member was super kind and helpful, and it was such a luxury to stay in a place with extra friendly, helpful service. From the doormen, to the concierge, to the front desk, you could really tell each Ritz-Carlton staff member genuinely cared about their guests and their happiness!
